What would happen if the leaves of a money plant are coated with oil.

If the leaves of a money plant are coated with oil, then stomata present on the surface of leaf gets blocked.

Transpiration occurs through stomata so transpiration would be negatively affected and that would lead to an inefficient absorption of water by roots leading to water deficiency in plants.

Secondly, gaseous exchange also takes place through stomata. Oxygen enters the plant, while carbon dioxide leaves the plant  through stomata. So, if stomata gets blocked, gaseous exchange would be affected. This in turn would affect photosynthesis and the plant may get wither due to lack of food.
