Molality

Molarity can be defined as the number of moles of solute present in 1 L or 1000 mL of a solution.

 

Molality can be defined as the number of moles of solute present in 1 kg or 1000 g of the solvent.

The unit for molarity is mol L-1 or mol dm-3.

The unit for molality is mol kg-1.

It is temperature dependent.

It is temperature independent.
