The differences between real and virtual images are,

Real imageVirtual image
1. The image can be captured in a screen.1. The image cannot be captured in a screen.

images formed by meeting(or convergence) of light rays (thus can be caught on a screen) are called real images

images where meeting of rays do not occur (thus, cant be caught on a screen) are called virtual images
