when ai r is replaced by a dieelctricmedium from space between plates of charged parallel plate capacitor then intensity of electric field decrease how?i m not gtng any relation or logic by which mine is comming increasing

dear student,

Please find below the solution to the asked query:

When a dielectric is introduced between the plates of a parallel plate capacitor,  then owing to polarisation effect an elemental amount develops on the dielectric due to charge separation and as such the end of the dielectric near the , say positive plate has an induced negative charge and vice versa.

thus the separated charges produces an electric field in the dielectric opposite to the electric field produced by the capacitor plates and hence the resultant electric field inside the dielectric is less.

the electric field inside the dielectric is E /K

where K is the dielectric constant of the meium and K >1

@suhani

When a dielectric is filled between between the plates of a capacitor the capacitance increases .

since , Q = CV

C = Q/V

since , V = El

C = Q/El

so , C is inversely proportional to E

since C increases so E decreases
