when causctic soda is added to an aqueous solution of copper sulphate a blue precipitate of copper hydroxide is obtained.how will you separate copper hydroxide from the mixture

Hi,

When caustic soda solution is added to copper sulphate solution, the following reaction takes place:

CuSO4(aq)  +  NaOH(aq)   Cu(OH)2(s)  +  Na2SO4(aq)

The copper hydroxide precipitate formed can be filtered off as the sodium sulphate is present in the solution in the soluble form.

Hope it helps.

Cheers!
