where dose  the  coal  comes  from

Coals are formed from plants that grew in and adjacent to swamps in warm, humid regions. Material derived from these plants accumulated in low-lying areas that remains wet most of the time and are converted to peat through the activity of microorganisms. Under certain conditions this organic material continues to accumulate and are later converted into coal.
