The winner of the fight was the mongoose. The mongoose moved quickly, attacked the snake and cleverly jumped out of its reach every time it tried to strike. The constant movement of the mongoose tired the snake. Finally, the mongoose leapt close and buried its teeth into the snake’s snout. The snake struggled for some time and then it died. After winning the fight the mongoose smelt along the snake’s quivering length, gripped it round the hood, and dragged it into the bushes.
