wht will happen if chorollophy is absent

Dear student,
If chlorophyll is not present in leaves then the colour of leaf will not be green and photosynthesis will not occur which eventually will lead to death of plants.

If chlorophyll is not there then plants are not able to synthesise their own food as we know chlorophyll is the major source of photosynthesis

Chlorophyll is present in the organelle, chloroplast in the leaf. The plants receive sunlight with the help of chlorophyll. Therefore, if chlorophyll is absent, the plants will not receive sunlight, due to which they will not be able to perform PHOTOSYNTHESIS.

Chlorophll is the main centre to absorb sunlight which is one of the factors essential for photosynthesis to take place. Therefore, an absence of chlorophll will lead to absence of sunlight energy and so plants will not be able perform photosynthesis to make food.
