why adrenaline hormon is known as emergency hormone?

Adrenaline is known as the emergency hormone because it is released by the adrenal glands under the conditions of stress or excitement. This hormone is also a part of the body’s stress response called the fight or flight response. Adrenaline performs various functions in the body like:

  1. Increases the supply of oxygen and glucose to muscles and brain.
  2. Increases the heart rate and the amount of blood pumped by heart per beat
  3. Dilates the air passages and constricts the blood vessels

it is called an emergency hormone because during emergencies, it is secreted and therefore adrenaline rush happens which refers to an activity of the adrenal gland in a fight-or-flight response, when it is releasing adrenaline (epinephrine).
Adrenalin is often referred to as 'emergency hormones' because they are released when a person feels excited. Thus it is this hormone that often give people the strength to do otherwise-impossible deeds and prevent emergencies.
