why are taller buildings in greater danger of being struck by lightning?

Hi! Khajuriaucntcme,

Electricity can easily pass through the low resistance path. The buildings are made up of concretes and metals. Comparing to the resistance of the air from Earth’s surface to the top of the building, the resistance of the building is very low. So lightning easily catches the building.
To prevent damage from lightning, tall buildings are equipped with lightning protectors. These are thick conductors earthed properly, and have sharp edge at the top, so that lightning will pass through them to the ground, without damaging the building.

Cheers!!
