why did the ghost decide to wear the antique suit of armour

The Ghost decided to attempt once more to frighten the Otis family. He wanted to put on the suit of armor and walk in it. He was under the notion that the family would be scared on seeing a an armor moving on its own. Hence, he tried to put on the armor, which had hilarious results.
