why did the poet go to the dentist?how could she have avoided it?

The poet had to go to the dentist because she suffered from toothache. She had got cavities in her teeth. She could have avoided her tooth decay by taking care of her teeth by eating less toffees, sweet sticky food and gobstoppers and cleaning her properly teeth after eating those.
