Why does copper reacts with silver nitrate solution?
Because according to reactivity series copper is more reactive than silver and thus displaces silver from silver niitrate and form copper nitrate and silver i.e. Cu + AgNo3 - CuNo3 + Ag . This reaction is also called Displacement reaction . Thus, copper reacts with Silver Nitrate.
