why does weight of a body varies, whereas its mass is always constant?

Hi Sasha!

Weight of a body is the force experienced by the body due to gravity. As the gravitational forces of different planets are different, the weight of a body on different places will be different. The unit of weight is newton (N).

Mass is the amount of substance contained in a body. The SI unit of mass is Kilogram (kg).

Cheers!!
