WHY DON'T TWO MAGNETIC FIELD LINES INTERSECT  EACH OTHER?

THE two magnetic field lines can never intersect each other because two tangents can be drawn from that point of intersection which will give two directions of the field from the same point, which is impossible. So, the two magnetic field lines can never intersect each other.

2 magnetic field lines do not intersect each other because if they did , then the compass would point 2 directions which is  IMPOSSIBLE.therefore 2 magnetic field lines  do not intersect each other

  • -17

also if they intersect object will experience force from 2 directions of magnet which is not possible

  • -19

If two field lines of a magnet intersect, then at the point of intersection, the compass needle points in two different directions. This is not possible. Hence, two field lines do not intersect each other.

The compass shows different deflections/directions when placed at different points near the magnet .What does this show ?

  • -17

it shows that the magnet is having a property of magnetism which make compass to deflect

  • -28

it is so because if two magnetic feilds will intersect each other they will give two different direction of south and north but the north pole nd south pole is only one

  • -23

because each gives a separate path for north pole

  • -26

If Two Magnetic field lines would intersect then it would produce to magnectic direction, but that is not possible( a compass can only show one north pole) hence two magntic field lines never intersect.

  • -13

this is due to the fact that  a magnetic north pole can only point in one direction, but when two magnetic field lines would intersect then the north pole would point in two directions at the same time, which is not possible...........thus two magnetic field lines do not intersect each other.

You're wrong. :P

  • -24

Magnetic field lines do not intersect, for if they did, the direction of the magnetic field would not be unique at the point of interection.

  • -17

if they intersect, the compass needle will move in two directions.

  • -16

they are paraller to each other & IIer lines never intersect each other

  • -24

becoz.....magnetic feild lines are allways parallel to each other, so they will never intersect another line.

  • -26

two magnetic field lines never intersect each other because if they will intersect then will get two direction of magnetic field this can't be possible thats why the lines never intersect each other.
