Why is air travel preferred in the north eastern states?

Air travel is preferred in North Eastern states because
of the mountainous terrain-Himalayas,Naga,Mizo, Patkoi,Jaintia are
some of the hills amd mountains over there Due to these mountains ,
road transport is difficult They are marked with the presence of
big rivers, dissected relief, dense forests and frequent floods and
international frontiers etc Because of these reasons, air travel is
preferred in the north - eastern states :)
