why plant cells have a large vacuole?

Plants have single large vacuole as compared to the animals which have many small vacuoles. The main reason behind this fact are as follows:

Storage: Plants form the base of the food chain. They are capable of converting inorganic matter to organic matter. To store these inorganic ions they are provided with the large vacuoles. Moreover, plants can not move from one place to another. So, it is very easy for a plant to be able to store extra nutrients when they are around for use later when nutrients may not be available

Growth: Plant cells grow by swelling. They are provided with a rigid cell wall. To make this wall expand, plant cells fill their vacuoles to exert pressure from inside.

plant cells have large vacuole because they need more water and minerals. Human can get water easily but plants do not get it easily so they need to store it more.

Animal cells also contain vacuoles, they remain small, being used for temporary storage. Because plants use their vacuoles for structural as well as storage purposes, they require larger vacuoles.Vacuoles work with the plant's cell wall to create turgor, a filling of the vacuole that keeps the cells rigid and helps hold the plant upright.

because for the storage of food as it cannot move place to place for food like animals.

to protect the plant from etreme temperatures as it cannot move.

to store food.

hpe this helps!!!!

plant cell have a large vacuole because plants have to  prepare their food so they need more amounts of substances to continue their prosess and they have to store water and other usful contents so they have large vacuole to store much amount of it.
