why should the blood going away from stomach and intastines pass through liver and not directly through heart
Before reaching the heart, blood from stomach and intestine pass through the liver. Blood coming from stomach and intestine carries absorbed nutrients which are deposited in the liver. The liver cells absorb all the nutrients from the blood. From liver again blood without nutrients pass to the heart to become purified. Liver helps in screening and purifying several types of toxins mixed with the nutrients before sending them to the cells.
