miss mebbin planted tiger lilies in her cottage in order to pay tribute to the dead tiger because of which she possess a cottage. she blackmailed and threatened mrs.packeltide that she will reveal the truth to everyone and mrs.packletide will have to face disgrace. these tiger lilies would constantly remind her of hunting expedition with mrs.packletide.
