Dear Sir,
Subject: War Footing to counter the problem of poor enrolment of girls
I'm a regular reader of your national daily, and would like to express my concern about the issue of the poor enrolment of girls in schools, through the columns of your esteemed newspaper. Educating the girl child, has been an issue of concern for most educationists in India, as the number of girls enrolling for basic primary education is alarming low. Though the conditions are better in urban India, rural India still does not consider educating the girl child as an important concern. It is necessary that we work on a war footing to counter the problem. A generation of educated empowered women can change the world, as it is aptly said, "When you educate a man, you educate an individual; When you educate a woman you educate an entire generation."
It is my sincere hope that the government can come with better education program and better outreach and awareness campaigns so that the women of tomorrow have better access to education than they do now.
