The movement group performs the following functions:
1. It tries to uphold issues on behalf of public to the government and pressurise the government to work on hem.
2. It does not take part in politics but work for the betterment and welfare of the people.
3. It even carry out activities like strikes, dharnas, processions to make heir demands and interests conspicuous.
4. It makes the government aware of its role towards the welfare and development of the people.
For example, Narmada Bachao Andolan, Movement for Right to Information, Anti- Liquor Movement, Women's Movement etc.
