write 3 differences between real and virtual images?

The differences between real and virtual images are,

Real imageVirtual image
1. The image can be captured in a screen.1. The image cannot be captured in a screen.
2. The image is always inverted.2. The image is always erect.
3. Light rays actually meet to form a real image.3. Light rays do not actually meet to form a virtual image.

Real-It can be formed on the screen
Light rays actually meet after reflection.

it is always inverted.

Virtual-It cannot be formed on screen
Light rays do not meet after reflection.

a virtual image is always errect unless they are again reflected or refracted.

  •  Real images can be captured on a screen.
  • They are created by converging light rays, and
  • always appear upside-down.
  • light rays meet after refraction

  • Virtual images cannot be captured on a screen,
  • they are only formed by light rays APPEARING to have come from the same place.
  • They also always appear right-side up.
  • light rays doesnt meet after refraction

REAL-

It usually appears INVERTED (depends on the type of mirror e.g convex, concave)
It can be OBTAINED ON A SCREEN
In case of mirror, the image lies in front of the reflecting surface.
In case of lens, the image lies on the other side of the object.

The light rays meet at a focal point in front of the mirror

VIRTUAL-

It usually appears ERECT
It CANNOT be obtained on a screen
In case of a mirror, the image lies behind the mirror
In case of lens, the image lies on the same side of the object
The light rays meet at a focal point behind the mirror

Basically,

REAL- Images that are real, and can be captured on the screen. Light rays
meet after refraction.

VIRTUAL-Images that aren't real, and can't be captured on screen. Light rays
do not meet after refraction.

An erect image is an image in which, the up-down reversal is not occurred. That is, the image will be standing like the object. For example, the image produced by a plane mirror is erect image.

An image which can be obtained on a screen is called real image and the image which cannot be obtained on a screen is called virtual image.

In case of mirrors, if the image is formed at the same side of the object, it is called real image. And, if the image is formed at the polished end (behind the mirror), it is called virtual image.

In case of lenses, image formed at the other end of object is called real, and image formed at same side is called virtual image.

u can add a very imp* point to all thse above

the maginfication of real images is always -ve

the magnificaion of virtual iamges is always +ve

1. Real image can be obtained on the screen..but virtual image can't be obtained on the screen.
2.real image is always inverted..Virtual image is always erect..
3.Real image is formed by the actual meeting of reflected or refrected rays..Virtual image is formed when reflected or refrected rays appear to meet when produce backward..

An image that can be projected on a screen is called a Real image. Real images are always inverted in nature. Example: Image of the sun on a piece of paper produced by a convex lens

An image than can’t be captured on a screen is called a Virtual image. Virtual images are always erect. Example: Images we see on a plane mirror.

Virtual-It cannot be formed on screen
Light rays do not meet after refraction

A real image can be captured on a screen, that is, if you place a screen in the place of the image you will be able to see the image on the screen.

A virtual image can never be captured on a screen.
