Today i am really very happy as i received the two most precious gifts from my little grand-daughter. She taught me how to read and write and now she has gifted me the novel 'Kashi Yatre '. I used to make Sudha read this novel loud when it came in pieces in newspaper so that i can hear it, but now i can read it myself on my own and as a whole. I had no idea that Sudha was going to gift me this novel, but i 'm really glad she did. When i first opened the gift, I immediately read the name of the novel, the writer and the publisher and that feeling was incredible. It was a very soothing feeling for me that i was able to read it. It was a very emotional experience. I was touched by this act that my grand-daughter did. I 'm really very proud of her and i love her.

Today, I am very elated by my present situation. It is a turning point in my life. I have, at last, learnt the Kannada alphabet. My joy knows no bounds. I am overwhelmed by the unexpected action of my granddaughter. I was choked with emotions when she gifted me a copy of Kashi Yatre-something I always wanted toread on my own. What touches me deeply is not the gift but her love for me. I will never be able to return the favour offered by my teacher who showed immense patience and maturity and helped bring about this new day in my life when I can enjoy reading a book on my own.
