Today is a special day. Teachers play a crucial role in steadily passing on the fullness of humanity from the past to the future. Knowledge alone does not produce wisdom. Transforming knowledge into wisdom requires input from the heart. On the eve of Teacher’s Day, it is such effort that was recognized by the CBSE. CBSE honoured teachers from across the country, including 10 from NCR, for their innovation in classroom teaching and their efforts to promote the Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE).

This is the second batch of mentors to receive this newly constituted award given by M.M. Pallam Raju (Union Minister- HRD). “Children are now much smarter and are more influenced by technology and consumerism. Therefore it’s a challenge for the teachers to mould them and teachers nowadays have to go much beyond books to help them imbibe values and traditions,” he said

The educators from National Capital Region who were awarded for their innovation are:

1. Abha Sahgal- Principal of Sanskriti School, Chanakyapuri
