    Hey there,
I am an American. I really want to Setup an Animation Studio in India. Presently i’m exploring for artists. I decided on India due to the fact it is cheaper compared with U.S. I wish to fully understand the steps for starting off a business in India, specifically an animation studio.

Can you folks please guide me out?

  • 3. lobby  |  November 3rd, 2010 at 5:28 am

If there would have been more animated videos in the learning area then it would had been more easier for us to understand.

I took the information from CBSE website .
MY child has failed in maths compartment held in july august 2009
can she continue in grade X1 in the same school and she opt for any other subject instead of mathematics for march 2010 exam as stated in one of the circular given below by the cbse
request you to clarify it at the earliest

    Related CBSE Information

Experts slam CBSE move on maths compartment
Experts slam CBSE move on maths compartment Mathematics experts in the city feel the Central Board of Secondary Examinations decision to allow students to opt for another subject if they fail in their second attempt to clear maths will handicap students reasoning power. The CBSE recently decided that there will be five compartment chances in maths for Class 10 students. If the student fails in his second attempt to clear the compartment, he/she can opt to… prepare for another subject of his choice like computers, music or art etc.

Given height of girl not necessarily needs to be taken into account. when it is given there that girl spots the balloon at height of 88.2m this can be presumed from her eye level also. keeping these two points in mind don’t you think that question was deliberately put in the NCERT book to check how many of its readers ignore the height of the girl and solve it strictly according to given language of question and figure. Please also go through the hindi version of same question in Hindi NCERT book Ganit X. There is no comma in the question to show height is taken from earth.

  • 49. saumya  |  March 25th, 2009 at 5:15 am

hi farheen! it’s saumya here. hw r u?

  • 50. meritnation  |  March 25th, 2009 at 1:42 am

Hi Jasleen, Whenever one is given the height of the observer, one always needs to take it into account. Also, the height of an object (which, in this case, is the balloon) is always taken with respect to the ground. Keeping these two points in mind, you will realize that the figure given in the NCERT textbook wrongly shows the height of the balloon.

i want 2009 maths solved paper

  • 60. meritnation  |  March 23rd, 2009 at 3:51 pm

Hi Vivek, What class are you in? If you look under NCERT Solutions, you will find that many questions contain a play icon [>] next to them. This means that not only can you view the NCERT Solution, but we’ll give you an animated or video explanation of the Solution as well. You will need to click on [Video] tab on the NCERT solutions page for such solutions. Can you point to those pages on the site where you find the English / grammar unacceptable? – Best, Harsh

  • 61. Vivek  |  March 23rd, 2009 at 7:43 am

Okay…this site is good. It gives all the NCERT solutions, practice tests, interactive puzzles, solved board papers. But where are the videos and animations other than in the puzzles? And the grammar and English used in the site is really really bad.

Question no 28 of section D of CBSE 2009 X Mathematics(out side delhi) set code 30/3 is wrongly solved by meritnation.. I would like to draw your attention towards the Mathematics Question Paper(outside Delhi) Code No 30/3 Section D question number 28 held on march14,2009. The question asked is exactly the same given in Excercise 9.1 question number 14 page 205 of NCERT Mathematics X text book. The question reads as follows

A 1.2 m tall girl spots a balloon moving with the wind in a horizontal line at a height of 88.2 m from the ground. The angle of elevation of the balloon from the eyes of the girl at that instant is 60degrees. After some time, the angle of elevation reduces to 30degrees. Find the distance travelled by the balloon during the interval.

Looking at the figure 9.13 and the language of the question in the NCERT text book it is very clear that that girl is spotting the balloons from ground(here from means that she is looking at balloon standing on the ground and not that height of balloon is 88.2m from the ground) Therefore height of the balloon is to be taken from the horizontal level of the eye and not from the ground level (because if it was to be taken from ground level then it was important to mention the 88.2 height above the ground. Please notice the difference in using from and above). The answer given in answer/hint section of NCERT and figure 9.13 on page 205 also endorses this view.
However, some reputed private publisher books and your website are showing the height to be taken from ground level and they subtract the height of the girl to get the solution which is different from answer given in Answer/hint section of NCERT book. Students were in great dilemma wheather to go as per NCERT figure and answer or to go as per solution given in private publisher’s book.Majority of students have gone according to solution of private publishers ignoring the answer given in answer/hint section of NCERT text book. The school teacher always advised to go through NCERT book. Since the question carry 6 marks, Kindly make sure that students who have gone strictly as per NCERT book may not suffer at the hands of examiner.I shall be sending the copy of same letter to Chairman CBSE. Kindly seriously look into the matter so that students posing all their faith in NCERT books do not suffer.
If the answer and figure in NCERT book is incorrect then students should get grace marks in marking scheme.
Also please note that in hindi version of this question a comma has been used which has changed the sense of the question in favour of solution given in private publishers book while there is no comma used in same question given in Hindi NCERT book GANIT X.
