Students of classes 9 and 11 in CBSE schools can yet again heave a sigh of relief, as CBSE with an aim to make exams a little more stress free has decided to give them extra time in their March 2014 final exams .Central Board of Secondary Education will give an additional 30 minutes to attempt the Open Text Based Assessment (OTBA) section introduced for the 2014-15 academic session. This will be in addition to the extra 15 minutes given before attempting the paper.
The Open Text Based Assessment (OTBA) will debut in March 2014 as a separate section within the main question paper. The OTBA questions will be addition to the original number questions as per last year’s pattern, hence the central board has decided to allow an extra half-hour to students.

CBSE is making everything complex. Who says that CCE is making things easier? It is very difficult to even get what will be the next change by the CBSE. OTBA is a complete waste of time. Who can read 8 pages careully in 30 minutes, understand them and answer them. Its very tough. And all this new curriculum is not worth.

Whatever CBSE has done by giving extra time for OTBA, it had to do it. They can’t expect us students to attempt the paper AND the OTBA in the given duration.
Honestly, the OTBA is a complete waste of time. Nothing good is going to come out of it.

i don’t think that cbse has done a good job .otba has raised our stress to more above level , i don’t think adding to the syllabus will reduce students pressure it only conveys that there is additional burden t us with respect to our syllabus .cbse always makes me pressurize!!!!!!!!!

It may or may not be a good move but it is not fair that it has to be experimented on our 9th std batch.
