Well, the formation of the universe seems to have followed a mathematical model, so it could be said that without mathematics the universe would not exist. If mathematics would not be there, the natural laws would probably cease to function correctly. Nothing would be henceforth predictable, and it would probably be a big mess for everyone. That is, planets, stars, galaxies, and the entire universe would exhibit a strange behavior. There would be no order, only chaos.

Maybe as a species we 'd be extinct by now, but then maybe not. The dinosaurs dominated this planet for a few hundred million years without (apparently) knowing mathematics, and all the other species on this planet survive without mathematics.

Various points which you might want to include in your essay on A World Without Mathematics:

- A person cannot fully appreciate, or in fact can appreciate much of, these particular aspects of the world, the great depth of character of the universality of the laws, the relationships of things, without an understanding of mathematics.

- The concept of memory does not exist without mathematics.

- Solution finding and decision making abilities come with mental calculations which would not be possible without the world of math.

- Emotional aspects like love do not require math but other than that, earning your livelihood completely depends on dealing with math.

The world of numbers if gone , then life is nearly impossible .
We find numbers everywhere in our daily life. Math was life to many and it still
exists for some . Math is enjoyable , interesting and very much challenging .
Our thinking levels step into newer levels when dealing with Math .
The everyday use of arithmetic and the display of information by graphs is very essential in this age .
  • The mathematics of error-correcting codes is applied to CD players and to computers.
  • The stunning pictures of far away planets sent by Voyager II could not have had their crispness and quality without such mathematics.
  • Voyager 's journey to the planets could not have been calculated without the mathematics of differential equations.
  • Whenever it is said that advances are made with supercomputers, there has to be a mathematical theory which instructs the computer what is to be done, so allowing it to apply its capacity for speed and accuracy.
  • The development of computers was initiated in this country by mathematicians and logicians, who continue to make important contributions to the theory of computer science.
  • The next generation of software requires the latest methods from what is called category theory, a theory of mathematical structures which has given new perspectives on the foundations of mathematics and on logic.
