ROSERT FROSTS STOPPING BY THE WOODS ON A SNOWY EVENING
WILLIAM WORDSWORTHS SOLITARY REAPER AND DAFFODILS
FIRE AND ICE BY ROBERT FROST
Some say the world will end in fire; Some say in ice. From what I 've tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice.
THIS POEM IS SHORT SO.
by william wordsworth
Fireflies in the Garden
Here come real stars to fill the upper skies, And here on earth come emulating flies, That though they never equal stars in size, (And they were never really stars at heart) Achieve at times a very star-like start. Only, of course, they can 't sustain the part.
Devotion
The hear can think of no devotion Greater than being shore to the ocean-- Holding the curve of one position, Counting an endless repetition.
Lodged
The rain to the wind said, 'You push and I 'll pelt. ' They so smote the garden bed That the flowers actually knelt, And lay lodged--though not dead. I know how the flowers felt.
A Minor Bird
I have wished a bird would fly away, And not sing by my house all day;
Have clapped my hands at him from the door When it seemed as if I could bear no more.
The fault must partly have been in me. The bird was not to blame for his key.
And of course there must be something wrong In wanting to silence any song.
Immigrants
No ship of all that under sail or steam Have gathered people to us more and more But Pilgrim-manned the Mayflower in a dream Has been her anxious convoy in to shore.
Hannibal
Was there even a cause too lost, Ever a cause that was lost too long, Or that showed with the lapse of time to vain For the generous tears of youth and song?
