 what does 5 % ( mass by mass ) solution of sugar in water mean ?

5% means 5 gram of solute dissolve in 100g of solution .solvent is equal to 95gram bcoz formula is solute +solvent =solution

5 + 95 =100 gram . in other word we can say that this is the concentration of water.if we want to calculate molarity then formula is 

no. of moles divide by volume of solution in 1 litre
