whats a valency? come on  yaaar i need simple explanations

valency is the amount of electrons an element can give or take to fill or terminate its outermost shell.

  OR

Simply, it is the combination capacity of an element.

the phenomenon of chemical bonds is known as valency.

(biology)a relative capacity to unite or react or interact as with antigens or a biological substrate.

(chemistry)a property of atoms or radicals;their combining power given in terms of the number of hydrogen atoms(or the equivalent)
