Gearing up for Asia’s Biggest Olympiad 2011

The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) is a registered non-profit organization popularizing Science, Maths and Computer education among school children. Aimed at identifying and nurturing talent in the area of science and encouraging mathematical creativity through problem solving, the Olympiads are hugely popular among the school population. Recently SOF in collaboration with The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad has also started to conduct the International English Olympiad (IEO) to test students’ proficiency in English language.

With an aim to strengthen the knowledge of students’, enhance their innate problem solving skills and to identify talent at a young age the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) is conducting Asia’s biggest Olympiad 2011. The 14th National Science Olympiad (NSO) and 5th International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) will take place in November-December, 2011.  Students from class 2nd to 12th are eligible to appear for the Science and Maths Olympiads. The top 500 All-India ranked students and school toppers from each class will proceed on to the 2nd round. Students will be judged academically at four different levels - within the school, at the city and state level and above all at an All-India level. The students will be suitably awarded medals, books and magazines, cash-prizes, computers, laptops, etc. based on their national ranking.
