1.  calculate the masses of cane sugar and water required to prepare 200 grams of 15% mass by mass solution of cane sugar and water.

2. it is desired to prepare 500 grams of 10%mass by mass percentage of urea in water. how much urea should be dissolved in how much volume of water? density of water  is 1gm/l

1.Total mass of solution = 200g

Mass of glucose = 15% of the total mass =  (15/100) 20 = 30 g.

Mass of water = 200 -30 = 170g

2. Total mass of the solution = 500g

Mass of urea=  10% of the total mass = (10/100)500 =50g

Mass of water = 500 - 50 = 450 g

density of water = 1g/ml

Volume of water = mass of water / density of water

= 450 g / 1 gml-1

= 450 ml.
