Refer to these to frame answers on your own:

1. The Garoghlanian family lived in a metaphorically ideal society of their own. They were very poor and did not even have enough money to feed themselves. However, they found themselves to be the richest in the entire world as they possessed honesty in their hearts. Their society was the entire world to them. This shows how confined they stayed, aloof and unaware of the rest of the world.

2. Pious is a holy word that denotes anything that is pure or sanctimonious. Here, when Aram first saw his cousin with a horse, he was amazed as well as terrified. He knew that no member from his family could be a thief. And yet. there was something that was as pure as God or religion in the eyes of the horse as well as Mourad. This contrary feelings have been defined through the phrase 'pious stillness and humour'.

3. Here, the inheritance of spirit has been well classified as non-hereditary. The narrator says that one's father in this generation would be a father only in the practical material sense but not on a spiritual level. Spirits are not inherited from a father.  There has always been odd notions about unpredictable changes in the distribution of spirits.
