Both strands of DNA are not copied during transcription
transcription and translation is bacteria can be coupled.

@Nivedita: For the first part of your question you may refer to the answer provided by your friend.

Transcription and translation in prokaryotes is said to be coupled since prokaryotes do not possess a nucleus so the process of translation begins while the synthesis of mRNA is still on.

@Sumayya: Good work! Keep it up.

if both the strands act as templates , two different protiens will be formed from a single gene .it complecate the protien synthesizing  mechinary .

if the two  mRNA  produced  could be complementary, they  paires & forms a double stranded mRNA  .  from  this translation  does not occure.
