Answer 2:

Water bodies contain various temperature sensitive organisms who cannot survive at high temperatures. As, thermal waste water has a higher temperature as compared to the water bodies, when it is added to the water body, the overall temperature of water rises. This results in killing of temperature sensitive organisms and hence, reduce their number.
