Given, side of a square shaped tile = 12 cm

Therefore, area of 1 tile = 12 cm × 12 cm = 144 cm²

Now, dimensions of wall are 8 m long and 4.5 m high.

Therefore, area of wall = 8 m × 4.5 m = 800 cm × 450 cm [As 1 m = 100 cm]

= 360000 cm²

So, number of tiles required $= \frac{A r e a o f w a l l}{A r e a o f 1 t i l e} = \frac{360000}{144} = 2500$
