1. If u melt 100 g of ice will u get the same mass of water?

2.Which of the following rection does not conform to the law of conversation of mass?

A]BURNING OF CANDLE

B]MELTING OF ICE

C]FUSION REACTION OCCURING IN SUN

D]COMBUSTION OF FUEL

3. In chemical rections how does law of conversation of mass contribute in writing cnemical equaions?

A-1) If we melt 100g of ice, we will get the same mass of water (that is 100 g). This is in accordance with the law of conservation of mass, which states that the mass of a closed system will remain constant in a chemical reaction and physical. In other words, mass can neither be created nor destroyed in a chemical reaction or a physical reaction.

A-2) Fusion reactions occurring in sun often do not follow the law of conservation of mass. In nuclear reactions, generally, the mass of the products is found to be slightly less than the mass of reactants. This mass is converted into energy according to the relation E = mc2

where E is the energy, m is the mass and c is the speed of light.

A-3) The law of conservation of mass helps us in formulating the chemical equations for reactions. As the reactants are completely converted into the products, therefore the law of conservation of mass helps us in determining the relative amounts in which the reactants will react with each other to give the products. In simple terms, this law helps in balancing of the chemical equations.
