Dear Student,

1. Vessel members are interconnected through perforation in their common walls.
Vessels are long, cylindrical tube-like structures made up of lignin. These consists of various cells called vessel elements or members. These vessel elements have openings at the both ends so that the individual vessel elements become connected. These end openings are known as perforations or perforation plates. These plates allows the vessel elements to form continuous tubular structure.
