1. which of the following shows laterally inversion?

(a) plane mirror (b) concave mirrror (C) convex mirror (d) all of them

2. A ________ image is formed by the actual meeting of reflected rays.

3. what is lateral inversion?

Differntiate between the following-:

4. lense and mirror

5. concave mirror and concave mirror

6. luminous and non- luminous body

Give reason for the following

7. convex mirror is used as a rear view mirror.

high order thinking skills (hots)

8. how wil you distinguish between plane concave and convex mirror without touching them?

  1. d. All of them
  2. Real image
  3. The appearance of an image as the object’s right hand side appearing as left hand side and vice versa when looked through a mirror is called lateral inversion.
  4. Lens and Mirror

i. Lens works on the principle of refraction while mirror works on the principle of reflection of light.

ii. Light actually pass through a lens but does not pass through a mirror.

5  Concave mirror and convex mirror

 i. In concave mirror reflection occurs on the inner surface of the spherical surface of which the mirror is a part while  in  the convex mirror the reflection occurs on the outer surface of the sphere of which the mirror is a part.

ii. In concave mirror real as well as virtual images can be formed while in convex mirrors only virtual image is formed.

 6. Luminous bodies gives out its own light while non luminous bodies reflects light falling in it by luminous bodies.

 7. Convex mirror is used as rear view because it displays a wide area view of a large number of objects in the rear area of the car by decreasing the sizes of the images. So a driver can see a large number of vehicles, people etc.

 8. The type of spherical mirror can be determined by allowing it to project far off objects like distant trees etc, if the image of the far off objects appear inverted it’s a concave mirror otherwise it is either a plane mirror or a convex mirror. Now to prove whether the mirror is convex or not we can bring near it a object, if the image appears smaller than the object, it is a convex mirror.

1.plane mirror

2.real

3.the inversion of right and left is called lateral inversion

4.a lens is a piece of transparent material bound by curved surfaces.they are convex or concave depending on which side the surfaces curve

a mirror is a hard subsatnce which helps in reflecting objects.there are three types of mirrors-plane,concave,convex mirrors

5.concave mirror and concave mirror are the same things :P

7.the convex mirror has a wide field of view and hence is used as a rear view mirror in vehicles,to view the traffic behind.

well i myself need help in the 6th and 8th question.
