1.Why is glycolysis called oxidative anabolism & catabolic synthesis?

2.What is substrate level phosphorylation?Explain.

3.What is an allosteric enzyme?

Substrate level phosphorylation:- The direct transfer of energy rich phosphate group to ADP/ GDP for the formation of ATP/GTP is known as substrate level phosphorylation.  For example- In kreb cycle formation of succinyl takes place from succinyl co-A. In this step- GTP is formed from GDP . This is known as substrate level phosphorylation.

Allosteric enzymes:-Those enzymes in which binding of a molecule (modulators) to one site affects the binding properties of the other site of same enzyme are known as Allosteric enzymes.
