1. Why should curd and sour substances not be kept in brass and copper
vessels?

all acids are sour in nature.
curd,is made from milk which is slightly acidic in nature(as it contains lactic acid).we know that acids react easily with metals to give salt and hydrogen gas.
when kept in copper or brass vessels, curd(and other acidic food items) reacts with copper and forms toxic compounds which may be unfit for human consumption, and may cause food poisoning.thus it is not advisable to keep curd and other acidic or sour food items in copper or brass vessels.

Curd is acidic in nature and so are pickles. So, when we put them in brass or copper vessels, they react to form substances which might be harmful for humans and also spoil curd and pickles.

Curd contains lactic acid because it is sour in taste. We know that metals react with acids to form salts and hydrogen gas. When curd and other sour substances are kept in copper vessel (metal), copper reacts with the acid in it to form hydrogen gas and toxic substances which are unhealthy and unfit for human consumption. It may cause food poisoning also.

this is because curd and other food stuffs contains acid which can react with metal or acid to form poisonous metal compounds which can cause food poisoning damag our health

Because they reacts with metals and create a slightly fizzing of hydrogen gas

Hi!!

Well, curd and other sour substances reacts with brass and copper vessels and forms hydrogen and other harmful substances due to presence of acid in them. That’s why curd and other sour substances should not be kept in brass and copper vessels.

Hope this helps. And also like!!

B'coz they form harmful substances when come in contact with metal which is harmful to humans

as it can cause corrosion

curd and other sour substance contain acids which when react with the surface of brass and copper vessels produce toxic substances which are harmful for our consumption. It may also cause food poisoining. So curd and other sour substances should not kept in brass and copper vessels

Because curd contain lactic acid which react with metals to for toxic substances yet copper doesn't react with acid because it is least reactive metal but other adulterate metal in brass or copper react with them to evolve hydrogen and toxic... Hope you understand...

curd contain lactic acid because it is sour in taste

Kisiko maar na ho na to isse istemal karna. 😂😂😁😁😀😁😋

when curd is store in brass container lactic acid present in curd reacts with copper and form hydrogen gas with toxic compounds.
THUS THIS BECOMES UNFIT FOR CONSUMPTION...

Curd has lactic acid sour substance such as lemons have citric acid. we know acids reacts with active metals to give salt and hydrogen therefore when curd and and sour substance are kept in bass and copper vessels they react with the elements forming respective salt and hydrogen . so we should not keep them in brass and copper vessels.

The curd and sour substance are acidic they will react with brass (alloy of Copper and Zinc metal) and copper vessel and will spoil the vessel I hope

Curd contains lactic acid and sour substaces contain citric acid.Brass and copper being metals react with lactic acid, as we know
Acid + Metal ---->Salt + Hydrogen.
Thererfore toxic substances are formed which are unfit for human consumption.Hence curd and sour substances are not stored in cooper and brass containers
