a) An integer smaller than both the integers

b) An integer greater than both the integers.

a) pair of integers whose difference gives an integer smaller than both the integers

= -5 and 3 = -5-(3) =-5-3= -8

-8 is smaller than both -5 and 3

b) pair of integers whose difference gives an integer greater than both the integers

= -4 and -3 = (-4) -(-3)=(-4)+3=-1

-1 is greater than both -4 and -3

hope it helps

        (a) = (-3) + (-1) = -4

-4 is smaller than both -3 and -1

        (b) = 3+4 = 7

7 is greater than both 3 and 4

  • 1

(a) (-5)+(-4)=(-5)-9=(-9)  and 9-4=5

(b) (-4)-(-3)=(-4)=3=(-1) and 10+30=40
