Dear student, Viscosity is a property of any matter defines by its material flow. It is usually defined in fluids. Viscosity of any fluid is the measure of its resistance to undergo any deformation due to external stress or any other forces. It is directly dependent upon friction of its layers. If the friction is more among its layers, the viscosity will be more. Viscosity and Density are different properties. We all know that density is a property which is independent to temperature and some other physical quantities, but viscosity do have dependence to these properties. It should be emphasised that the viscosity as well as density comes from the same cause of fluid, ie, its thickness, but these two are independent. Viscosity changes drastically, when there is a change in temperature. Regards
