13.  An alloy of copper, silver and gold is found to have copper constituting the ccp lattice.  If silver atoms occupy the edge centres and gold is present at body centre, then the alloy has a formula:
a .     C u A g 3 A u                           b .     C u 4 A g 4 A u                   c .     C u 4 A g 3 A u                   d .     C u A g A u

i don't know

No of Cu atom is = 1/8*8 = 1   [ccp]
No of Ag atom is = 1/4*12 = 3   [edge center]
No of Au atom is = 1   [body center].
Therefore, formula is CuAg3Au.

Effective no. of Cu atoms in a unit cell =8×18+6×12 = 1+3 = 4 Effective No. of Ag atoms in a unit cell = 12×14 =3 Effective no. of Au atoms in a unit cell = 1 So, general formula of compound is Cu4Ag3Au

Effective no. Of Cu atoms=8×(1÷8)+6×(1÷2)=4 Effective number of Ag atoms =12×(1÷4)=3 Here 12 edge centre and contribution of each is 1/4 Effective number of gold atom =1 since it is body centre Therefore formula is Cu4Ag3Au.

ANSWER IS (3) Effective no:of Cu atom in a unit cell =(1/8×8)+(1/2×6)=4 ie, CCP={corners}+{face} Effective no:of Ag atom in a unit cell =1/4×12=3 {edge centre} Effective no:of Au atom in a unit cell=1 {body centre} So Formula=Cu4Ag3Au
