2) Why does informal organisation exist within the framework of formal organisation? Give reasons for the emergence of informal organisations. (4 marks)
Informal organisation refers to the network of social relationships that arises out of the interactions between the employees of an organisation beyond their officially defined roles. Informal organisations are said to emerge from the formal organisations in the sense that they are created when people working at different profiles and positions in a formal organisation interact with each other outside their purview. These relations are based on the friendship which develops between the working personnel on the basis of like nature. These structures emerge spontaneously without any deliberate effort by the individuals. For instance, the employees may bond over lunch, team parties, etc. Similarly, some of the employees in an organisation who are interested in dramatics can form a dramatics society. The members of the society can meet over the weekends and indulge in some practise sessions.
