To Find-area of trapezium
construction-draw line DX and CY perpendicular to line AB
solution- DC=12cm,AB=20cm 
                Now in triangles DAX and CBY
              DX =CY ( distance between the parallel sides )
              angle DXA =angle CYB(90 degree)
                and DA=CB (10 cm)
so ,triangle DXA congruent to triangle CBY( by SAS criteria )
so AX=YB (c.p.c.t.)
AX +YB=AB-DC
              =20cm-12cm
              =8cm
AX=4cm,YB=4cm (since AX=YB)
Now in triangle DAX ,
DX^2 +AX^2=DA^2
DX^2 =100 - 16
DX= 9.16cm
area of trapezium= 12+20/2*9.16
                           =146.56cm^2
