2poles of 6m and 11m stand on a plane ground . If the distance between their feet is12 find distance

Solution:

Height of one pole is 11 Mtrs and the height of other pole is 6 Mtrs.

So the difference in their height = 11 - 6 = 5 Mtrs.

Distance between the feet of poles = 12 Mtrs.

Distance between the tip of the poles = As per pythogoras theorom:

Hypotenuse2 = Base2 + Perpendicular2.

Hypotenuse =√Base2+ Perpendicular2

Hypotenuse =√(12)2 + (5)2

Hypotenuse = √144 + 25 =√169 = 13 Mtrs.

Ans: 13 Mtrs.
