44cm long wire is bent in he shape of rectangle of length 12cm. Them, it is bent in n the form of a circle. [Assume radius=22/7]
What is the difference between the areas enclosed by the rectangle of the circle?
Dear Student,
Length of rectangle given= 12 cm
Total Length=2(length + breadth)
Total Length=2 × length + 2 × breadth
Breadth of rectangle=[Total length - (Length × 2)] / 2
Breadth of rectangle= [44- (12×2)] / 2 = (44-24) / 2= 20/2= 10 cm
Area of rectangle= length × breadth= 12 × 10 = 120 cm2
Circumference of circle = length of wire
2r = 44 cm
⇒ r = 7 cm
Area of circle = r2 = (22/7) × 7 × 7= 154 cm2
Area of rectangle = 120 cm2
Required difference = 154 cm2 – 120 cm2 = 34 cm2
Hence area of circle is more and difference is 34 cm2
