√5 is a polynomial of degree ?

root 5 is a constant term.

The degree of a non-zero constant polynomial is zero. Remember, this does not mean root 5 to the power 0, it will come 1 which is wrong. It means root 5 X x to the power 0 which means root 5 X 1. :)

root 5 is a non zero constant term so its degree is zero..
