since the radius of the cylinder is same as the radius of the one circular plate.

the radius of the base of the cylinder be r = 7 cm

the height of the cylinder is same as the thickness of 50 circular plates.

thickness of 1 plate = 1/2 cm.

therefore the height of the cylinder h = 50*1/2 =25 cm

total surface area of the cylinder = curved surface area of the cylinder + 2*area of the base

$= 2 π r h + 2 π r^{2} = 2 π r (r + h) = 2 * \frac{22}{7} * 7 * (7 + 25) = 44 * 32 = 1408 c m^{2}$

volume of the cylinder = $π r^{2} h = \frac{22}{7} * 7 * 7 * 25 = 3850 c m^{3}$
